DowlingDodd Chartered Surveyors was originally established in Newquay in 1981 and quickly became one of the most respected professional practices in the County of Cornwall and in 1996 the practice opened an office in Truro.
The practice was acquired in 2004 by Keith Carr and Julian Crosby on the retirement of the founding partners. In 2010 Paul Davison was appointed a Director.
Our Residential Survey and Valuation department specialise across the entire spectrum of the housing stock ranging from small terraced cottages to large country homes and commercial buildings.
We are not only able to provide advice on condition and repair but also provide valuations for sale, purchase, estate planning and disputes.
Unique to Cornwall and parts of Devon we also specialise in Mundic Block testing. Graham Dodd, one of the founding partners was instrumental in drafting the RICS Guidance notes in the 1990s and recently Julian Crosby sat on the RICS Steering Committee to review the existing Guidance which resulted in the revised Guidance Notes.
The company also specialises in Commercial valuation work for a number of major institutions including Lloyd Bank plc, NatWest Bank plc, RBS and Svenska Handelsbanken AB (publ) as well as niche lenders and private clients and we also receive instructions from many of the county’s leading Solicitors and Accountants.
Our field of expertise is wide ranging from development appraisals, retail, industrial and investment valuations. We also specialise in business appraisals such as Pubs, hotels, post offices and general stores to name a few.
We have now been in business over 30 years, with a City centre office in Truro which enables us to cover the whole of the county.
Our aim has always been and continues to be the provision of the highest standard of independent professional advice and services to private and corporate clients across the commercial and residential market.
